2 Samuel 23:5
(V5) “Although my house be not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire, although he make it not to grow.”
(V5) Though not definitely expressed here to be a covenant, this was understood from other writings (2nd Chronicles 7: 18; 21: 7; Psalm 89: 3,4; Jeremiah 33:19-26; Mark 11:10; Acts 1:6; Luke 1:32-33). In this covenant God promised David that His physical line of descent would continue eternally and it would never pass away permanently. Although it would cease to function, God could always renew it. Some say this is why the Jewish people strongly cleaved to Jesus Christ when He made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
2 Chronicles 7:18
(V18) “Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.”
(V18) This verse is based on the ifs in the previous verse where God told Solomon if he walked before Him as his father, David, did and obeyed all of His commands and observed his statutes and judgments, then his kingdom would exist without conflict or incongruity. This is in agreement with the Davidic Covenant that promises that no ruler that followed after him in Israel would be a failure.
Chapter 21:7
(V7) “Howbeit the Lord would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.”
(V7) Nevertheless, because of the Davidic Covenant the Lord would not destroy the house of David. Neither would He fail in His promise to give him an eternal light that would be passed on to his sons after him. This eternal light will be Jesus Christ the long awaited Messiah. When He sets upon the throne in the Millennial Temple in Jerusalem He will rule as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. In Daniel 2:44 it tells us that in the last days there would be ten prominent kingdoms but that God would set up an indestructible kingdom which will never be destroyed. This Messianic kingdom shall break in pieces and devour all these kingdoms, but it will stand forever. In the book of Revelation 2:27 we find that He will rule over the other nations with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father (Psalm 2:8,9).
Psalm 89:3-4
(V3) “I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,”
(V3) All verses in the Old Testament that point to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ are labeled Messianic, and since these two verses in this Psalm fit this criteria they are Messianic prophecies.
(V4) “Thy seed will I establish forever, and build up the throne to all generations. Selah.”
(V4) God tells David that he would set his throne forever and magnify it to all generations. The important thing to remember is that this is referring to Jesus Christ and His Millennial Kingdom.
Jeremiah 33:19-26
(V19) “And the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah, saying,”
(V19) Jeremiah was the son of Hilkiah of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin. The word of the Lord came to him when dealing with two kings, Jehoiakim and Zedekiah, the sons of Josiah. They both were kings of Judah.
(V20) “Thus saith the Lord; if ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;”
(V20) The Lord is saying in this verse if his covenant of daytime and nighttime can be broken there would be no more day and night.
(V21) “Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne with the Levites the and priests, my ministers.”
(V21) Then the Davidic covenant He made with David could also be broken. This covenant promised him that he would have a son to reign upon his throne with God’s ministers, the Levites and priests. This is a type of Christ (The Messiah) with whom the covenant of grace is made. It stands fast and impossible to be broken with David concerning the perpetuity of his kingdom in the Messiah.
(V22) “As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.”
(V22) We learned as a child that it is impossible to number the heavenly host and by no stretch of the imagination could the sands of the sea be calculated. God said that He would multiply the seed of His servant David and the Levites that ministered to Him.
(V23) “Moreover the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying,”
(V23) In the same manner the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah.
(V24) “Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the Lord hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.”
(V24) Some of the people seemed to turn a deaf ear to the red hot gossip going around that would make the front page headlines of any newspaper. According to the Believers Bible Commentary on page 1018 some of the people were accusing God of forsaking His two houses - Israel and Judah, and were thus despising the Jews as cast-offs, a non-people. The Lord replies that his covenant with His people is as fixed as the laws of nature and that the descendents of David would be as innumerable as the sand of the sea.
(V 25) “Thus saith the Lord; if my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;”
(25) God is saying that if His covenant with heaven and earth is not firm and perpetual then He would break the Davidic covenant.
(V26) “Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.”
(26) God is saying if His covenant with night and day could be broken and if He had not designated the heavenly laws then He would cast away the seed of Jacob, and His servant David. Also, He would not designate any of his seed to rule over Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for he would demonstrate His mercy and bring the captives home.

THE DAVIDIC COVENANT 6 OF 8 SCRIPTURAL COVENANTS
Part One
Scriptural References: 2 Samuel 7:4-16; 1 Chronicles 17:3-15
(V4,V5) “And it came to pass that night, that the word of the Lord came unto Nathan, saying, Go and tell my servant, David, Thus saith the Lord, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?”
(V4,5) As King David sat in his house due to a rest that God had given him from his enemies, God told Nathan the Prophet to go and tell the king that while he is living in a cedar house the Ark of God is hidden behind curtained walls. Then the Prophet told the king to proceed with all that he had in his heart to do, for the Lord was on his side. Later that night the Word of the Lord came to visit Nathan and told him to go ask the king this question shall you construct me a house to live in?
(V6) “Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.”
(V6) Then the Word of the Lord told him to consider the fact that He had not lived in a house since he evacuated the Israelites from Egyptian bondage even to this time and did all of His walking in a tent and a tabernacle.
(V7) “In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?”
(V7) In this verse God tells David through the Word of the Lord that wherever His feet had touched the ground while walking with Jacob’s children, He hadn’t raised the issue concerning his housing.
(V8) “Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:”
(V8) Here again the Word of the Lord reminds David that He snatched him out of the sheep pen from tending the sheep and had Samuel to anoint him to rule as Israel’s king.
(V9) “And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.”
(V9) In this verse God is reminding his wayward flock that He had been with them wherever they had journeyed and had moved their enemies out of the way. This is great information for those of us today who are traveling the pilgrim road, because it encourages us to keep on keeping on and we can rest assured that He will destroy every enemy and discard them out of our sight.
(V10) “Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime.”
(V10) God also told them that He would designate a place for His people Israel to own and root down and never be moved again. All of the enemies of Israel should get a Bible and read this verse over and over again until they get it, that regardless of all of their threats Israel is not going anywhere. You might ask who says so. Well, if you look in His book you’ll see that God says so. Neither will the children of wickedness ever afflict them again as they have in the past. In other words, it is over and done in the mind of God. All that’s left is the clearing of the smoke.
(V11) “And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the Lord telleth thee that he will make thee an house.”
(V11) Ever since the days of the judges that God ordered to rule over His chosen people and instigated a rest for them from all their enemies, He had been telling them that He would make them a house.
(V12) “And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.”
(V12) In this verse God told David that after his death He would put his son on the throne and establish his kingdom. At that time the son mentioned was referring to Solomon and history verifies the fulfillment of that promise. But looking farther into the future, God was referring to His own son Jesus Christ when He will be seated on the throne in the new Millennial Temple at Jerusalem.
(V13) “He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.”
(V13) This verse could be pointing to the Household of God that is built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets and the Lord Jesus Christ is the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2: 19-22).
(V14) “I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:”
(V14) According to the Believer’s Bible Commentary, page 330, the Lord revealed to Nathan an unconditional covenant which He would make with David. This covenant promised that David would have a son (Solomon) who would build the temple; that this son’s throne would be established forever; that when he would sin, God would correct him, but His mercy would not cease.
(V15) “But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.”
(15) This verse refers back to the kingdom of Saul when God extracted His mercy from him through disobedience and lying, but here He tells David that His mercy would always be with Solomon.
(V16) “And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.”
(V16) God now tells David that his house, kingdom, and throne would be established forever and his very own descendants would occupy the throne. It’s important to remember that Jesus Christ is of the seed of David. One day He will sit on the throne and rule all nations from the Millennial Temple in Jerusalem.

LAND COVENANT 5 OF 8 SCRIPTURAL COVENANTS Part 4
PART 4
SCRIPTURAL REFERENCES: 30:1-20
(V1) “And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath driven thee,”
(V1) In chapter 29:25 we learned that the Israelites had forsaken the covenant that God had made with them when He brought them out of Egypt. Here in chapter 30 He speaks of a blessing that would be set before them if they would turn back to Him and do the right thing. But if they refused to turn back to Him then a cursing would come upon them.
(V2) “And shalt return unto the Lord thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;”
(V2) Here we learn the requirement of returning back to Him was obedience. Both the parents and their children should obey the voice of the Lord with all their heart and soul. This really needs to be preached under every steeple and taught in every Sunday School room in this nation.
(V3) “That then the Lord thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the Lord thy God hath scattered thee.”
(V3) When a rebellious people begin to pray and seek the Lord and humble themselves then will God hear from heaven and sympathize with them. If they are bound by the enemy anywhere in the world He will go back and retrieve all of those He has dispelled (see 2nd Chronicles 7:14).
(V4) “If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the Lord thy God gather thee, and from thence will He fetch thee:"
(V4) We see here that if any enemy of Israel ever succeeds to drive them out of their homeland to any place on this earth God will bring them home again. All they have to do before trying to wipe Israel off the face of the earth (their words) is to read the history books of Egypt.
(V5) “And the Lord thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.”
(V5) Come what may God will keep His promise to bring Israel into the land of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and when He takes action against an enemy He will be victorious every time.
(V6) “And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.”
(V6) God tells the Israelites that He will perform His work within the heart of every one of them and cut away the things that have hindered them so that they may live.
(V7) “And the Lord thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.”
(V7) He told them that all the enemies of the Israelites would be cursed as well as all Jew haters. I think that Israel’s enemies today should realize that God has Israel’s back and be with them and fight for them. Their enemies need to remember the six day war in 1967.
(V8) “And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the Lord, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.”
(V8) Because God circumcised their heart they turned around and obeyed his voice and lived by His commandments.
(V9) “ And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the Lord will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:”
(V9) The Lord then told them they would reap a plentiful harvest from anything they worked: their crops in the fields, the fruit on the vine, as well as their posterity.
(V10) “If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the Lord thy God, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.”
(V10) In this verse the Israelites were told to listen to the voice of the Lord their God and obey His commandments and statutes that were written in the Bible and return to Him with all their heart and soul.
(V11) “For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.”
(V11) He tells them that this commandment was not buried and not beyond their reach.
(V12) “It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and to bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?”
(V12) The commandment was not in heaven and it was needless to ask someone to go up there and bring it down to them so they could hear it with their ears and live by its instructions.
(V13) “Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?”
(V13) And it’s not over in a foreign country that they would need to send a missionary to go and return and share the news with them.
(V14) “But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.”
(V14) Now we learn where the commandment can be found. It is in the mouth and the heart of every believer for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:10).

(V15) You may ask why God would set both life and good, along with death and evil before the rebellious multitude, but the answer is simple He gave them a choice to make on their own. When God made man He placed within him a choice making mechanism that remains with him today. He can choose Satan or God, life or death, heaven or hell. It’s not God’s choice to send even the most vilest sinner to hell, but He also will not restrain his capability to choose for himself. One can almost see the tears in God’s eyes when He stands by and watches sinners heading for hell and going there by their own choosing.
(V16) “In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.”

LAND COVENANT 5 of 8 Scriptural Covenants-Part 3
Part 3: Deuteronomy 29:21-29
(V21) “And the Lord shall separate him unto evil
out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:”
(V21) God is sternly warning the Israelites that because they received His blessings by obeying His commandments they should expect the curses that accompanies disobedience. Here again, I must warn this present generation that when our forefathers drafted the articles of our constitution they quoted some of the words used by Moses in this covenant. Now it would stand to reason that if this nation has been blessed because we were obedient to the commandments of this covenant, then for our disobedience we should be prepared for the curses that are now coming upon us.
(V22) “So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the Lord hath laid upon it;”
(V22) The children of Israel are reminded of the book of the law where the curses are written down, so when people from faraway places arrive on the scene they can view the results of the judgments of God upon a disobedient land.
(V23) “And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass growth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the Lord overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:”
(V23) The entire land is discolored, salty, and on fire and not even suitable for a blade of grass to take root. In fact, it’s compared to the condition of the land when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
(V24) “Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the Lord done thus unto this land? What meaneth the heat of this great anger?”
(V24) When other nations question why the Lord did so unto this land the answer would be given because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to serve pagan gods.
(V25) “Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord God of their father, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:”
(V25) At that time it was said that the reason for God’s judgment against that land was because they forsook the covenant that God had made with them when they were delivered out of the evil hands of Pharaoh.
(V26) “For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:”
(V26) After leaving Egypt, the wilderness multitude turned to idol worship and served false gods that had not been introduced to them by Jehovah - the one true God of the Israelites.
(V27) “And the anger of the Lord was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:”
(V27) In this verse the righteous anger of the Lord was ignited against the land to bring all the curses upon it that were written in the book.
(V28) “And the Lord rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.”
(V28) Because of their rejecting of the Lord in fury, wrath, and great exasperation He displaced them from their homeland and hurled them into another country just like it is today.
(V29) “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.”
(V29) William MacDonald says that while there are certain secret things that belong to the Lord, especially matters concerning His judgments Moses reminded the people that their responsibility was clearly revealed--to keep the covenant of the Lord.

LAND COVENANT 5 OF 8- PART 2
Deuteronomy 29:1 - 30-20
Part 2: Deuteronomy 29:14 - 29
(V14) “Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;”
(V14) Moses once again explains the covenant that God made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We find that the covenant and oath were not exclusionary, but comprehensive and included not only those who were present but also those who were not present at that time.
(V15) “But with him that standeth here with us this day before the Lord our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day:”
(V15) The articles of the covenant called for all of the Israelites present and those who were not to share it’s blessings and entitlements.
(V16) “(For ye know how we have dwelt in the land of Egypt; and how we came through the nations which ye passed by;”
(V16) Anarchists should look out for temptations to serve gentile idols and think that they would escape the wrath of God.
(V17) “And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them:)”
(V17) On page 226 of William MacDonald’s Believer’s Bible Commentary published by Thomas Nelson Publishers, Nashville, Tennessee, stated that “one who when he hears the words of this sworn covenant, blesses himself in his heart saying, I shall be safe, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart his would lead to the sweeping away of the moist and dry alike.” No one would escape.
(V18) “Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;”
(V18) Here we have a warning to all the men, women, families and tribes to sever out from among them those whose hearts have been turned to serve the gods of the nations around them. They were also warned not to cultivate a root of bitterness among them. At this point I must warn this present generation that is being bombarded on every side by opportunities to serve the false gods of the foreign nations that are among us. Since the early sixties when Jesus was expelled from America’s educational systems some schools teach our children that all so called gods are to be revered while from their lips the name of Jesus must be whispered.
(V19) “And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:”
(V19) This is instructing them not to call a curse a blessing while declaring that they have peace even though they walk in the imagination of their own hearts while adding drunkenness to thirst.
(V20) “The Lord will not spare him, but then the anger of the Lord and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the Lord shall blot out his name from under heaven.”
(V20) The Lord will not exempt him from the wrath of His anger when His flaming jealousy smokes against that person when all of the curses written in God’s book are laid upon him and his name blotted out from under heaven.

LAND COVENANT 5 of 8 Scriptural Covenants
THE LAND COVENANT
Part One: Deuteronomy 29:1-13
(V1) “These are the words of the covenant, which the Lord commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, beside the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.”
(V1) From chapter 28 we discover that God’s purpose for Israel was not made without expected reciprocation for He purposely blessed them according to their obedience to Him. In chapter 29 we are told that God made two covenants with Israel, one in mount Horeb and the other in the land of Moab. In chapter 29:12, 13 Moses urged the children of Israel to enter into a covenant with God in order to establish a people for Himself that He may be all that he can be to them as he swore to their forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
(V2) “And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the Lord did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;”
(V2) In this verse Moses reminds God’s chosen people to remember what God did when they were enslaved in Egypt and saw with their own eyes and testified to His mighty miracles. When He set them free and delivered them against the stubborn will of Pharaoh the vacillator who could not make up his mind if they should stay or go, God decided to make up his mind for him and made the wicked king wish he had never held the brick makers in captivity and made their lives bitter with hard bondage and great difficulty.
(V3) “The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles:”
(V3) Here we find that God had not given Israel an heart to perceive, an eye to see or ears to hear the temptations, signs, and the powerful miraculous things He had done. In other words they were spiritually numb to all that was happening around them. That is much like today when people profess to be so spiritual but are completely clueless to what’s happening around them. Today many preachers offer nothing but feel good sermons to a lifeless congregation who are starving to death for a good Holy Ghost anointed sermon that can reach their loved ones and bring them to an altar of repentance. Today when the old hymn books have been replaced by the thump, thump, thump of modern day songs with their repetitious phrasing that works the saved into a frenzy, but absent is the anointing it takes to break the yoke, soften the heart, and bend the sinner's knees at the altar of God.
(V4) “Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.”
(V4) Again on another day, Moses speaks directly to the children of Israel and reminds them God still had not given them a discerning heart, eyes to see, and ears to hear.
(V5) “And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.”
(V5) God reminds the Israelites that for forty years through their wilderness journey He had been their leader and that they never wanted for bread, meat, and water. As to apparel they walked in indestructible shoes and permanent clothing.
(V6) “Ye had not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the Lord your God.”
(V6) Since Israelites had enjoyed the heavenly manna and drank water from a rock they learned not to put their dependence on the earthly provisions of man. Both the heavenly wafer and the rock water were provided by God so they might know the faithfulness and love of the Great I AM who was still the Lord their God.
(V7) “And when ye came unto this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us unto battle, and we smote them:”
(V7) As a stimulus to encourage the Israelites, once again Moses calls on them to remember the covenant God made with them. He reminds them to recall the time they were victorious in battle when they smote Sihon the king of Heshbon and Og king of Bashan.
(V8) “And we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance unto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half tribe of Manasseh.”
(V8) After conquering those two kings the victorious Israelites confiscated their land and distributed it among the Reubenites, Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh.
(V9) “Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.”
(V9) Here Moses warns the people of Israel to comply with the words in the covenant and to perform them that they might be prosperous in all their endeavors.
(V10) “Ye stand this day all of you before the Lord your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel.”
(V10) In this we find multitudes of Israelites including tribe captains, elders, and officers standing all together with the Israelite men.
(V11) “Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water:”
(V11) This verse informs us that their wives and the strangers among them from the wood chopper to the water boy should respect this covenant. The children from a small child should become familiar with this covenant, then when they are grown they will understand and obey it.
(V12) “That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the Lord thy God, and into his oath, which the Lord thy God maketh with thee this day:”
(V12) Then the Hebrew pilgrims of a later day were told that they should also enter into the contract and oath that the Lord their God was making with them on that day.
(V13) “That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”
(V13) God’s purpose for them to enter into covenant and oath with Him on that day gave Him the opportunity to establish a people unto himself so that He may be to them all that He ever was to their forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

ABRAHAMIC COVENANT 4 OF 8 SCRIPTURAL
Part 4 of 4
Scripture References: Genesis 32:12; 17:2,6; 24:60
(V12) "And thou saidst, I will surely to thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude."
(V12) Here Jacob while running from his offended brother, Esau, reminded God of his promise that he made to Abraham. The Abrahamic promise contained God's goodness toward him and that He would cause his offspring to be as the sand of the sea.
Three times I have had the awesome opportunity to stand in the great Caribbean sea. I also took part in an unforgetable baptizing in those mighty waters where boatmen have been lost and never found. It would be totally impossible and fruitless for me to try to count the sands of that great sea.
Genesis 17:2, 6
(V2) "And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly."
(V2) Again God reiterates His covenant with Abraham. However, this time He made it a personal covenant just between the two of them and also reassured him that He would still multiply him to the extreme.
(V6) "And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee."
(V6) History verifies this verse when we read about Israel, Iraq, Iran and other Middle Eastern cities that sprang from Abraham's seed and great kings like David, Solomon, Hezekiah and Josiah, just to name a few, ultimately leading to the eternal reign of King Jesus in the Millennial Temple at Jerusalem.
Genesis 24:60
(V60) "And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them."
(V60) Abraham's wife, Sarah, died at the ripe old age of one hundred and twenty seven and was laid to rest in a cave in the field of Mach-pe-lah. While suffering from old age Abraham sent his servant to Mesopotamia to find a wife for his son, Isaac. On his journey the servant found and chose Rebekah who willingly went with him to be a wife to Isaac. Here in this verse we find that she was evidently accepted by the Abrahamic family, because they pronounced a blessing that told her to be a mother of thousands of millions and that her seed would own the entrance of those that hate them.
This concludes our series of posts on the Abrahamic covenant.
